DesignPlus is one of the most important awards given to products that stand out for their design, research, innovation and environmental sustainability, on the basis of universally adopted international quality standards.
Messe Frankfurt and the German Design Council, the promoters of this prestigious competition, have once again evaluated the 145 companies that participated in the selections, making a total of 254 products.
The prize was awarded during the last edition of ISH on 15 March last year and was displayed in an exhibition.
AZZURRA Sanitari received the much sought-after award with the POOL washbasin designed by Martí Guixè.
Contemporary, eclectic and captivating are words that describe Pool as well as the mind of its creator. His unconventional perspective recreates simplicity as an expression of quality.
“Pool represents a new kind of washbasin: it is square, metallic and rejects the idea of a conventional washbasin found in standard bathrooms. It can be easily placed in outdoor areas, offices, studios, bars, public and private places, in almost any setting. Thanks to its intrinsic qualities and its white colour, it may be placed in the most contemporary bathrooms.” (Martí Guixè, 2010)
Pool is made of stainless steel, a 100% recyclable material, with a matt white epoxy powder coating. The towel-holder peg, as well as the optional internal shelves, are in teak.
This is yet another prize on top of the many awards that AZZURRA has received in the last 3 years: iF, DESIGN PLUS, RED DOT AWARD COMMUNICATION DESIGN, GOOD DESIGN AWARD, as well as the last ADI INDEX recommendation and DESIGN PREIS nomination. All stand testimony to Azzurra’s philosophy, which combines quality, innovation and design, and is able to interpret change and modernity.
